Projects

Under the DISCO₂ funding call, 13 research and development projects are specifically addressing technological bottlenecks along the CO₂ value chain. The focus is on disruptive approaches to the capture, electrochemical, thermochemical, and biotechnological conversion of CO₂, as well as novel catalysts, reactors and process control systems that can fundamentally expand or replace established processes. The projects consistently pursue a scaling perspective: from material- and cell-based innovations through modular process concepts to integrated plant architectures, solutions are being developed that are designed for industrial scale, flexible operation and long-term economic viability, thereby paving the way for transfer to large-scale applications.

WiNCO₂ – Knowledge transfer for the industrial use of CO₂

The accompanying project WiNCO₂ lays the foundations for a high-performing and growing network in the field of Carbon Capture and Utilisation (CCU). It brings together the stakeholders involved in the funded research and development projects and promotes interdisciplinary exchange.
