Nature and purpose of the processing
When you access our website, information of a general nature is automatically collected. This information (server log files) includes the type of web browser, the operating system used, the domain name of your internet service provider, your IP address and similar details. It is processed in particular for the following purposes:

  • To ensure a smooth connection to the website,
  • To ensure the smooth operation of our website,
  • to assess system security and stability, and
  • for other administrative purposes.

We do not use your data to draw conclusions about you as a person.

Legal basis
Processing is carried out in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR on the basis of our legitimate interest in the technical provision, improvement of the stability and functionality of our website.

Recipients and hosting provider
The website is hosted on the servers of the hosting provider Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany). A data processing agreement (DPA) has been concluded with the provider in accordance with Article 28 of the GDPR.

Retention period
The data will be deleted as soon as it is no longer required for the purpose for which it was collected. For data used to provide the website, this is generally the case once the relevant session has ended.

Nature and purpose of processing
The data you enter into the contact form (surname, first name and email address) is processed for the purpose of individual communication and handling your enquiry.

When you submit the form, the data is stored in a TYP3 MySQL database on a server hosted by Hetzner and transmitted by email to the relevant contact persons at the University of Applied Sciences / CC4E and hySOLUTIONS GmbH.

Legal basis
The processing of the data entered in the contact form is carried out on the basis of a legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR) in the efficient handling of user enquiries. If the purpose of making contact is to conclude a contract, the additional legal basis for the processing is Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR.

Recipients
The recipients of the data are the data controller, together with the relevant contact persons at the University of Applied Sciences / CC4E and hySOLUTIONS GmbH, as well as, where applicable, technical service providers acting as data processors for the operation of the server. The data will not be disclosed to unauthorised third parties.

Retention period
The data will be deleted as soon as the enquiry has been fully processed and there are no statutory retention obligations (e.g. under commercial or tax law) preventing its deletion.

Nature and purpose of processing
On this website, we use the open-source software tool Matomo to analyse the browsing behaviour of our users. Matomo is configured in such a way that no cookies are stored on your computer.

Furthermore, the software is set up so that IP addresses are not stored in full; instead, the last byte of the IP address is masked (e.g. 192.168.xxx.xxx). This means it is no longer possible to link the truncated IP address to the visiting computer. The data is processed exclusively on our own server and is not transferred to Matomo or any other third parties.

Legal basis
The processing of users’ data is carried out on the basis of our legitimate interest in optimising our website and online presence in accordance with Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.

Retention period
The data will be deleted as soon as it is no longer required for our record-keeping purposes.

Right to object on a case-by-case basis
You have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing of personal data concerning you which is carried out on the basis of Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR (data processing based on a balancing of interests).

If you object, we will no longer process your personal data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Recipient of an objection
Please address your objection informally to hySOLUTIONS GmbH using the contact details provided in section 1.
